Sliver Copper Explained

"Sliver Copper" coming from the Japanese

term for the coarser type of 'Copper Wools'

Sintering - Compacting metal together under high pressures and then fusing them.

Why start with coarse copper wool to make an electrical contact?

This gives the copper contact a mechanical advantage when it

comes to handling electricity. Since the copper is pressed into

thousands of micro layers the surface of the contact can migrate

from contact surface to contact surface preventing the contacts

from sticking together while under extreme amp load.
