  • Motors used for boat propellers are much more forgiving than motors used for Karts which are firmly rooted to the ground.

  • Most vehicles require compound gearing and one or two jack-shafts to compound the torque of the motor.

  • GROUND VEHICLES MUST BE GEARED DOWN AND GIVEN ENOUGH TORQUE TO STAY COOL, REV HIGH AND DO THEIR JOB WITHOUT BEING LUGGED DOWN WHICH MAY BURN OUT THE MOTOR AND THE CONTROLLER.

  • BELOW ARE EXAMPLES OF MOTORS PROPERLY GEARED FOR THEIR JOBS BOTH SINGLE AND DOUBLE AND TRIPLE SHAFTS. DO NOT FORGET TO USE #4 AWG WIRE AND A 35 AMP FUSE AS EXTRA SAFETY FOR THE CONTROLLER.

THE WRONG WAY! NOT ENOUGH GEARING!

This mining kart failed with only a 1:1 gearing ratio.

The owners where told to install a two stage double gearing shaft to make this

little track-crawler work properly with the high torque compound gearing brings.

 

 

 

THE RIGHT WAY! GEARED FOR HIGH TORQUE!

Now this Kart has great pulling power and the motor and controller
