Thoughts:
In my opinion it makes more sense to harvest only the BIG winds. If the wind is not blowing hard then its not worth it. Harvesting the occasional big winds about twice a month (over 20 MPH) is the only thing that makes any sense! SO the system I built is set to OPTIMIZE the harvesting of the HIGHER WINDS and THAT really pays off big. Storing all that power can be difficult since it will fill the battery in under an hour and then what? SO I have a 500 gallon water tank and in about 10 hours I can get the water to the boiling point. Then I use all this water for washing dishes, clothing, baths and showers. In the winter we only do our family laundry twice a month when we have plenty of free hot water. This is actually the only way to do it smart and live smart. Hot water as an energy storage medium is a GREAT idea for any and all domestic life styles.
